The achievements that the VNU University of Law has gained today are the crystallization of the creativity and perseverance of many generations of lecturers, staff, and students over the past half-century.

To continue our tradition, and to deserve the trust of the society, the VNU University of Law has determined its goals and orientations for development as follows:

- To develop in the direction of a high-quality research-oriented university leading domestic law schools and having regional and international influence;  

- To promote an innovative, creative, liberal, pioneering, modern, friendly, humanistic, and dynamic working and learning environment at the University of Law;

- To take learners as the center of every policy and decision, and as the driving force and the goal of our development;

- To ensure that our graduates possess comprehensive and systematic knowledge, modern and comprehensive legal reasoning skills, high social responsibility, professional ethics, high adaptability to modern changes, and big vision;

- To build modern and autonomous university governance with a team of faculty and staff who are professional, dedicated, highly qualified, socially responsible, liberal, and pioneering.

- To develop the University of Law into a prestigious policy consultancy center, a reliable partner of the Party, the State, local authorities, domestic and international enterprises, organizations, and individuals.

With deep pride in our achievements in the past half-century, with the determination, solidarity, and responsibility of each individual and department, the support from leaders of all levels, the effective cooperation and assistance of domestic and international partners as well as of collaborators, with the wholehearted affection of alumni and students for the University, and especially with the spirit of innovation, creativity and pioneering, the VNU University of Law believes that it will live up to its glorious tradition, continue to vigorously develop and achieve its strategic objectives, and become a research-oriented university meeting regional and international standards.
