On the afternoon of October 29, 2022, at hall 703 - E1 house, the University of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) held a thematic seminar with the content "Modern human rights issues".

 

The seminar welcomed the participation in the hall of leading experts, scholars, and managers such as Assoc.Prof.Dr. Trinh Tien Viet (Vice Rector); Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vu Cong Giao (Head of the Faculty of Constitutional Law - Administrative Law; Prof. Dr. Vo Khanh Vinh (Former Vice President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences); Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tuong Duy Kien (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Huu Nghi (Institute of State and Law, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences). ); Dr. Le Trung Nghia (Association of Vietnam Universities and Colleges); Mr. Vu Ngoc Binh (Senior Advisor, Institute of Population, Family, and Children);... In addition, the seminar also attracted more than 100 delegates attending through the Zoom platform. 

The seminar was divided into two sessions, moderated by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vu Cong Giao and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tuong Duy Kien. In the first session, the speakers presented their presentations and the second session will be a discussion on the topic "Presentation and exchange on the development of research and training activities on human rights in Vietnam from 1990 until now”. 

The panel session of the Seminar will have the participation of 05 speakers including Mr. Vu Ngoc Binh with the presentation "The implementation of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) in Vietnam: Looking back two years from a human rights perspective”; Mr. Le Trung Nghia with the presentation "Open Science and Human Rights"; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Doan Hong Nhung with the presentation "Using green, clean, and renewable energy in the 4.0 industrial age - from the perspective of ensuring human rights"; Group of authors Nguyen Thuy Nguyen, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Mai, Tran Ngoc Phuong Duyen with the article "Right to disconnect: "The requirement to ensure the mental health of workers in Vietnam"; Dr. La Khanh Tung with the presentation "Some issues on the index to evaluate the implementation of civil and political rights".

Opening the second session of the Seminar, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Chu Hong Thanh presented his article with the content "The establishment and operation in the early stages of the Center for Human Rights under the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics - The first human rights research and training institution in Vietnam.". At the end of the seminar, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tuong Duy Kien gave several recommendations to bring human rights education into the education system in Vietnam according to "Project on incorporating human rights content into the educational curriculum under the national education system of Vietnam.".
