On November 18, 2022, at Nguyen Van Dao Hall, the University of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the establishment of the University of Law on the basis of the VNU Faculty of Law. This is also an activity to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Vietnam Teachers' Day.
Attending the Ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Kim Son - Minister of Education and Training; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Internal Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Van Du - Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngan - Deputy Chairman of the Office of the National Assembly; Mr. Do Duc Hong Ha - Deputy Chairman of the Judiciary Committee of the National Assembly; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luong - Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tinh - Deputy Minister of Justice; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Deputy Head of the Delegate Affairs Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tinh - Chief Justice of the High People's Court in Hanoi, Prof. Dr. Dao Trong Thi, Former Chairman of the National Assembly Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children, Former President of VNU; Prof. Dr. Le Quan – President of VNU; leaders and former leaders of VNU; former leaders of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities over time; leaders of VNU committees, leaders of the Government, Ministries; representatives of embassies, leaders of VNU member universitites, representatives of training & research institutions; representatives of domestic and foreign partners and businesses, representatives of the press.  On September 23, 2022, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1124/QD-TTg on the establishment of Law University, a member of Vietnam National University, Hanoi on the basis of the VNU School of Law. The establishment of the VNU University of Law has satisfied the expectations of many generations of teachers and students of the University. In addition, the establishment of the university also aims to achieve the following goals: Firstly, to improve the efficiency and quality of law training and research activities in Vietnam to meet the requirements of high-quality human resources in the legal field in the new context; to contribute to the effective implementation of the university autonomy policy of the Party and State in Vietnam today; To contribute to the development of the orientation of a research university and encourage the development of research universities in the legal field of Vietnam; To create equal opportunities to access higher education for all in Vietnam and promoting the country's international integration process, especially, to promote the strengths and potentials of a long-standing training and research institution with nearly half a century of establishment and development.    |
